THE RAILROAD MUSEUM OF LOUISIANA

Our Mission:  to establish and maintain a progressive and interactive railroad museum for the ARKLATEX Region.

Our Goals:

  •  Secure and begin restoration of the Engine Service Facility
  • Rejuvenate and upgrade the exhibits in the depot with the addition of an "N" scale layout of the area to explain why the service facility was constructed and the industrial history of the town of Cullen.
  • Upgrade rails to allow for both excursion rail traffic and commuter rail traffic

Who we are:

  • local railfans who also members of the RRVRHS
  • Citizen's of Webster Parish
  • A group of local agencies working toward the goal of increasing the economic/tourism development of Webster Parish

How can I participate?

We are currently seeking founding members for the museum board.  if you are interested please contact Melinda West at msnsrailfan@gmail.com .  This is a great opportunity to give back to the region with a great project.  Just like it takes a village to raise a child it takes the whole community to create this museum.  Please join us and get on the ground floor.

Where are we going?

With the assistance of local and state tourism boards we are moving forward to make our goals, reality.

"Build it they will come"

As you can see alot of work has to be done to get the Engine Service Facility up and running.  The ultimate goal is to create a rail tourism destination in Webster Parish, with the Engine Service Facility and the Restored L&A Depot as the focus point.
