On KCS Main Meridian Sub between Doyline and Sibley
The Builder Plate for this bridge puts the construction date at 1906. That makes this bridge being in active service for over 100 years. I think they got their money's worth out of it. She was originally constructed for the VS&P and has changed hands many times. Today she is apart of the Meridian High-Speed Corridor operated by a joint venture between the KCS and NS. She will see up to 45 trains a day when the project is completed. You can enjoy this bridge on the back road behind the Ammo plant between Doyline and Sibley. nsrailfan@juno.com for directions. There is a boat landing and a picnic area. Bring bug spray to fight the mosquitoes. Great place to take pictures.
Once again Southern trains run through with the new high speed corridor agreement between Norfolk Southern and KCS.
