Where are we going with all this cool stuff? How are we going to restore it? Do we have a museum to put it in? How can I help?
We are actively searching for a museum site for this equipment. It is in relatively good condition. The most difficult restoration project would be the dining car. The trucks are still operable. Our next project when we get finished with the cosmetic preservation of Ex Santa Fe Engine 1140 is to get the passenger car able to be utilized by others. We hope to be able to utilize her in rail excursions after we make the necessary repairs to her interior and fix her air conditioning. You can be a part of this by joining in her restoration. She is currently located at Camp Minden which is a secure area. All skills are needed including someone to watch the kids while we work. We will be getting assistance from the Youth Challenge Program located there, but any and all help is appreciated.
