The Children's Counseling Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1998 by Jess and Linda McEntee. The facility is located off HWY 80 in Princeton at 225 Mahaffey Rd. It is the only
facility within a 30-mile radius where children and the
families can come for emotional health need, as well as fun activities.
Voted in 1998 by the Shreveport Times as one who makes a difference in the community, Jess McEntee, LPC,
specializes in ADHD, mood, and behavioral disorders. His counseling assists clients develop the life skills of elf-control, problem-solving, and communication. His focus in on early intervention and prevention. During the process of building a child's emotional strength, there are programs and activities which provide fun.
One of the fun-while-learning programs is Camp FROG which runs
during the summer. Other special fun FROG
Saturdays run during the year. A recent fun-while-learning activity was painting a rain forest mural on a 35 Foot wall at the Center. A spring "Youthful Art Expressions Exhibit" is currently in the planning stages. Other social activities include special get-togethers around holidays.
The availability of programs depends on the availability of funds. Donations are crucial for the operation of the Center. There is a high-percentage of
families in the area earning less than $25,000 and who do not qualify for medical assistance. About 49.5% of those listed as caregivers are grandparents. Financial Assistance is, therefore crucial so that the Center can provide services to those in our community.
